What to bring to your RYA Practical Course...

The following list is not exhaustive and is a guide to what you should consider bringing along to your practical course. Obviously if you are only doing a one day course you will not require everything on the list. Remember it can get colder out on the sea than on land despite the sun shining. Please remember that the yachts have limited storage and odd shaped storage areas. It is advised that a flexible bag or bags are used for storing your gear rather than a large solid case/bag.

If you feel that your waterproof outer layer is not adequate it may be possible to hire a set of waterproofs. Should you require a set you need to pre order when booking your course and pay along with your course fee. If you are placing a late booking (of less than two weeks) waterproofs may not be available. At time of booking please indicate which sizes you require (S,M,L,XL). Please note that there are limited stocks and a larger size maybe supplied where your size is not available. Availability is not guaranteed. The sets are supplied at £5 per day. Please note if your own waterproofs are not adequate you need to hire a set from us prior to your course.
